I made the bargello below for my own living room and called it “I’m walking on sunshine” because of the combination of warm sunny colours and movement, but most of all because it describes the way I feel when I quilt!

This bargello measures 63 x 40 inches (160 x 100 cm).

The wall hanging below was made for a friend who selected the bargello pattern and the batik fabrics. As the finished bargello resembled a forest it was titled ‘Epping Forest’ which is appropriate as this forest is near my friend’s house.

  1. The photo of my Quilt, entitled Epping Forest does not do the quilt justice. It is the most beautiful example of the quilters art I have ever seen. The colours are vibrant and powerful and it gives me goose bumps every time I look at it. Susie’s use of colours are stunning and she has a true artists eye. Every time you look at it you see a new angle and the colours on the quilt change in the light at different times of the day.

This quilt is now one of my most treasured possessions and the finished work far outweighed my expectations of the outcome, when I asked her to undertake the work. Susie is an amazing needle artist.
